Good can, bad business

I'm not sure why the $30 AC adapter doesn't come with the $80 trash can, but you have to spend $30 on D batteries if you want it to work without the adapter. Really feels like they could have just charged us $100 for the thing and given us the complete item instead of dragging me back for another order. It's the same AC adapter you get for free with any $5 piece of plastic trash, so it's not like this is some kind of premium item that demands a special SKU and premium price tag, it's just the same kind of scummy business that the United States of America is built to support.
